Glossybox Limited Edition Holiday Box 2015!

My Holiday Glossybox Arrived + 2nd Ipsy Bag!!!

I had gone to visit my mom for a couple of night's, as I do a couple times a month! I love my mom, she is so awesome. While I was there, Thomas called to tell me that my Holiday Glossybox (my referral link shows it as invalid, but it is just fine to use as I checked with Glossybox) and 2nd Ipsy bag! I posted my first Ipsy bag in my last post with the add on items of the ColourPop Forever Freshman Collection! My mom bought me a 2nd December Glam Bag bag for my birthday, yet they sent out November without warning! She was refunded and I got to keep the bag! I love the 2nd bag, everything is great! So, I was most excited to check out the Glossybox Holiday Box! Even though the contents were known to me, as they showed what came in the box, I was still so excited to open it! Here are all the goodies!!!

I am such a sucker for Glossybox's pretty boxes!!! They have the best when they have a theme!

Glossybox has the prettiest packaging as well. Always feels very high end!

Eeeeep, look at the pretties!!!

Trust Fund Nail Polish - Champagne Socialite
Retail Value: $15US

NUXE - Exclusive Edition-I Love Huile Prodigieuse!
Multi-Purpose Dry Oil - Face, Body, Hair
Retail: $45US

L'Atelier Maquillage - Mascara Keracare
Retail: $30US

Ardency Inn Modser Eyeliner in Black
For some reason this is only a sample size, though I am positive that all items were to be full size. I have emailed Glossybox about this and I am waiting to hear back.
Full Size Retails: $19US
Sample Size: $10US

Pure Cosmetics Glossygloss in Pouty Pink
Retail: $20US

Aerin Kaleidolight Palette
Retail $70US

So Pretty!!! I did some very light swatches, and the colour payoff seemed very nice and did not come off easily, yeah!

This face palette and the NUXE Dry Oil are my two favourite items and are the main reason I got this box! Glossybox sent out a 25% pre-order code in their October box. I took advantage of the deal! Normally it would have been $45US including shipping. But with the code I paid $35US, aprox. $45CND. Which I believe is a great deal, as the NUXE alone is that much! I am disappointed that the Modster Eyeliner is not full size. As I have the sample size already and it is my very favourite black liner. I was really looking forward to getting a full size. We shall see what Glossybox says, as they are usually great whenever I have had a problem in the past.
Unfortunately this box is no longer available for purchase. :( But if you were ever contemplating any of these items, I have to say i am very happy with it all. Though I do not wear lipgloss, I am sure there is someone out there that would love to buy it! ;) I have found a home for the polish already, as I have way too many polishes, lol. Overall I really loved this box. :)

More ColourPop!!!

I love Me My ColourPop & Ipsy!!!

So I was very surprised, in a great way, when I checked my mail this morning!!! Not only did I receive my latest ColourPop order, but I also received my Ipsy Glam Bag!!! I will be reviewing it first, as I was able to get the ColourPop Forever Freshman Shadow Collection with my Ipsy points (which I will explain below) and that is so exciting!!! We received the first snowfall of the year and of course I had to head to my Monday doctor appointment, lol. At least it was pleasantly warm. I love snow, but I dislike cold! I am talking -40 with the windchill cold! Living right on Lake Superior makes for a very chilly winter here! The Christmas decorations will be going up this week!!! Whenever it snows, I get more excited for the holiday season. I love a nice toasty home on a cold day, with a cup of Coco and doing some blogging. I have also been doing a lot of colouring, which I will post about soon!!!

So, let's get down to the goods, lol.

Ipsy Glam Bag ~ November 2015

So, Ipsy is a monthly beauty bag subscription. Every month you receive 5 sample/deluxe sample and sometimes full size items, plus a cute makeup bag (I am addicted to the bags, lol)! It is $14.95US a month, which is roughly $20CND. I break it down to $3.33 per item, I take the bag into consideration and see it as 6 items. I find out of all the beauty subscriptions I have, that Ipsy sends out the most makeup products, as opposed to skin/hair/body products. I have been a subscriber for quite a while now, but I am going to try my hardest to unsubscribe as I have plenty of makeup to keep me happy for a long while! What is also great is that I run a Facebook group that I can trade or buy items I may be interested in. I admit it will be hard to cancel, so we shall see what happens, lol. They also have a point system for varies sharing on social media and reviewing your items on their website. Last month I redeemed points to receive Colourpop's Forever Freshman Shadow Collection!!! Seriously insane!!! If you click here you will be directed to Ipsy's website, if you join through my link, I get 250 points! Then once you are a subscriber, you can do the same. It is one way to earn extra points! Ipsy has had some great point items lately!!! I wasn't overly excited over this month's items, but the bag itself is so awesome! I do love the Crown Crease Brush! I had totally forgotten I had added on the temporary tattoos for 100 points, no clue as to why, I am guessing because it was only 100 points, lol. My November Ipsy bag contained the following items:
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara - Deluxe Sample Size
Crown Brush-Crease Brush - Full Size
Coolway Hairspray - Travel Size
Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer - Deluxe Sample Size
INSPR Beauty Eyeshadow in Carnival - I believe it is Full Size
Plus the makeup bag, which I just love this month!!!

Ipsy had an amazing point item, which is still available if you have 1500 points, and it is the ColourPop Forever Freshman Shadow Collection, which retails for $30US!!! Plus I added on the temporary tattoos for 100 points!

November Ipsy Glam Bag 2015 with point items, ColourPop Forever Freshman Shadow Collection and Metallic Temporary tattoos. I wanted to review the ColourPop Forever Freshman Collection, so here it comes.

I love the boxes that ColourPop has when you order a collection. They are all different and unique! Due to the amazing creaminess and velvet like feel to the shadows, it requires them to be stored in pots, which they tell you to always keep closed tight to keep the magic inside! So I don't think they will ever have a traditional palette. But that it what I love about ColourPop, they are not your average company! I still consider there four and six shadow sets, to be pallets!

Top Row; Left-Right: Baby T (Matte), 90210 (Satin Luxe) and Koosh (Ultra Metallic)
Bottom Row; Left-Right: Melrose (Matte), As If (Matte) and Crimper (Pearlized)

Top Row; Left-Right: Baby T (Matte), 90210 (Satin Luxe) and Koosh (Ultra Metallic)
Bottom Row; Left-Right: Melrose (Matte), As If (Matte) and Crimper (Pearlized)

I find this to be a great collection and a well put together colour scheme. I am in love with Melrose! It is such a pretty burnt orange/rust colour. As always, they are extremely pigmented, creamy and go on like magic. I tend to lean to the Matte colours the most, so I can see myself getting a lot of use out of Melrose and As If, as well as 90210. I compared Crimper to Fringe and they are so close in colour, just a note for anyone who loves the Crimper colour, but does not want the whole set. Baby T will probably get the least use, as I tend to lean away from blues of most sorts. But if I were to own a navy blue, this would be it, lol! Koosh is extremely pretty, being an Ultra Metallic is does really sparkle. This is a great set for fall. I will be reviewing the Mondays in Malibu Collection, I think it is my favourite collection for shadows to date! I have a picture with swatches, but my computer is being cranky atm, so I am going to post this and come back and edit in the photo of the collection swatched!!!

Next Up: The Charmed Life box from Birchbox...

For My Dad

The Day My Life Changed Forever:

The day was November 16/1996. I was 20 years aold, just a few weeks shy of turning 21. The year started out as the best year of my life. I traveled from mid January to mid March with my best friend Susy, all across Europe. The best time of my life! We visited Nice, Rome, Budapest, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Madrid. I came home and enjoyed the summer. My mind has blackened out parts of my memory, for my own sake I would imagine. So some details are sketchy. It was around the 13th of September 1996, when my dad had some kind of break from reality and was dealing with pychosis. He was amazing father and business man. He was managing a local Credit Union for almost 25 years. My mom and I both were working there as well. My dad loved his work so much. He enjoyed helping people get their finances in order and gave loans to some, that other banks would not. He had a giant heart. He always took his work home with him, we went on a summer vacation every year, yet he still called work everyday to make sure things were running smoothly. For reasons I will never know, he went into work on a Saturday morning and took $300,000 and disappeared. There is nothing more devastating then not knowing where your loved one is. We live a short 45 minute drive to a small US boarder crossing, we assumed that was where he was (remember, this is before 9/11). For three agonizing weeks we had no clue where my dad was. Nor were the police. It was on the National news that there was a worldwide warrant for his arrest. My city has roughly 110,000 people. A mid size city, not huge, not small. It was front page news everyday that he was missing. A lot of the time he was missing, I don't recall. But I do recall the morning when my mom and I were having coffee and all of the sudden my dad walked in the back door. We were frozen, speechless. At the time he arrived in our house, I found this out later, he had taken a bottle of medication to try and kill himself. He managed to drive an hour home, across the boarder and walk in the house. His appearance was drastically different, he had grown a beard, was disheveled and had no shoes on. It is when he spoke that I broke down. He started accusing my mother and i of holding him captive and drugging and hurting him. My heart was breaking, this was not my father. I don't think from that day on, I ever really saw the dad I grew up with again.  The Credit Union he managed was for city employees, so most of the Police force knew my dad personally. The police were so very kind and caring and did there best to deal with my father in his state. They told him there was a mix up with with his 2 cars and he had to go with them to sign some stuff. They never even put handcuffs on him. The lead detective on the case knew and really liked my dad, I know this case was hard on him as well. That night I recall going to the jail for the first time in my life, it was so surreal. I tried to talk to him through the phone, but he was still accusing me of hurting him. I don't recall any more of that night. He was arraigned in court the next morning and was sent to the local Psychiatric Hospital's Forensic Unit for 30 days. It was Oct.1 when he went in and Halloween when he came out. I visited my dad every day for those 30 days, but I do not recall much. November 4th was my dad's 53rd birthday. I do remember and have not forgot that day. My dad, mom and myself went to East Side Mario's for dinner and then we went and saw the movie 'Ransom' will Mel Gibson. It was a really special evening that I will never forget. On November 13th, my dad told me to take my mom to the states and have a fun relaxing weekend after everything we had been through. The the first thought I had was 'he is going to kill himself'. We left on the 14th, I tried calling home all day of the 15th to no answer. My gut just knew something terrible had happened. We came on Sunday November 16/1996, I pulled into the driveway and as soon as I saw two newspapers in the mail box, I knew my dad was gone. I just remember running into the house with my mom. The bedroom was upstairs and we ran up. My went into the bedroom and yelled for me not to come in, I wish I never did. I lost my dad to suicide that day and my life has never been the same. My whole existence seemed to shatter in a nanosecond. I just remember running back downstairs and collapsing, after that I just recall going to the police station and then to my Aunt and Uncle's how to stay there. The rest of the time is gone, a blur. I am pretty sure  I was being given medication to keep me calm. Tomorrow is the 19th anniversary and it is still like it happened yesterday. I have been plagued by immense grief for all of these years. I have lost have my life being 'lost'. It is time for me to forgive myself and heal. No matter if I had said something before we left regarding my thoughts that he would die by suicide, he would have done it some other time. He left my mom, brother and I tapes to listen too. I can't recall what he said, but I know he said he loved me. I have truly suffered for these past 19 years and it is time for me to forgive myself, my dad would not have wanted this. I am finally going for grief counselling starting soon.

Who My Dad Was:

My hero. I was totally daddies little girl and I had my dad wrapped around my finger. :) My dad loved his yard! He was always watering his grass and mowing it perfectly. Heaven forbid we rode our bicycles on the lawn, lol. Ever since I was a little girl, and had a toy Fisher Price yellow and orange shopping cart, my dad would take me and my cart shopping with him. I know how much he enjoyed spending that time with me. For when I got to be a teenager, and my dad said let's go, I said for the first time, no I think i will stay home. I instantly saw a flash of sadness over come him and I totally changed my mind and went with him. My dad was not one to give hugs or one to show emotion or say I love you, but I know he did. We would go on a two week road trip every summer and it usually included at least one or two Major League baseball games. I will never forget how much my dad enjoyed going to the ballpark. I know he would have been very proud of his Blue Jay's this year! He loved sports, I couldn't even think of how many hockey and baseball games we watched together on TV. I still to this day enjoy watching those two sports thanks to my dad. I showed dogs starting at the age of 8. I was a natural, if I do say so myself. I would compete in Junior Handling, where I was judged on my handling skills, I won every time. Some times I would be in the ring and I would catch a glimpse of my dad, he would leave work just to come and watch me. He would stay till i was done and then he was gone. My heart always swelled seeing him there, I loved to make my dad proud. Once I was working with my dad, I so enjoyed spending our lunch hour together. My dad was a family man through and through. He did everything for us. It is time to say goodbye dad, I will always and forever love and miss you. I am almost 40 and I need to heal, this is one way of doing so. You will remain in my heart and I can't wait to one day see you again. I want to make you proud again. I know you would not want me to be this devastated still after 19 years. I am sharing this with those who love me and loved you. You will never be forgotten. <3 I love you so much dad, see you again one day, your loving daughter, Michelle Andrea Binette

My Mom and Dad on their wedding day! <3

My dad loved his cars!!! :)

This photo has seen better days, but I still love it. <3

My mother (who is my very best friend) and my older brother David. :)

Then came along little ol' me! ;)

My dad at Christmas, must have been around 1985.

Our family vacations consisted of traveling with our trailer. So many awesome places we went and so many joyous memories created in the first 20 years of my life!
On to new amazing memories for the 20 years!

Dad, you will never be forgotten, ever!

A Touching Gift

Christmas Came Early!

I run a Facebook group related to Beauty Boxes for Canadians, and boy does it contain the most awesomest ladies ever!!! I am very proud of my group, it is like my baby, lol. Everyone is always so nice, thoughtful, caring and giving! One member sent me the most amazing act of kindness by gifting me my very first gift for Christmas. My Secret Mrs. Claus honestly blew me away, I was not expecting anything, even more so in Oct! She gifted me the most wonderful Lego set called "Santa's Workshop'!!! Insane!!! It is so beautiful and contained twice the amount of pieces of any set I own! Yes, I am turning 40 and still love Lego! I know I am not thew only one. My Mrs. Claus knew how much I loved Lego, and she picked out the best set ever!!! The details are amazing. It took me about a week to put together, working on it on and off. It was so much fun to put together! I love to feel like a kid again. Though I am really an adult, I have never left my childhood behind, lol. There were only 2 words I could say, THANK YOU! This was such a very special and touching gift. So again to my Secret Mrs. Claus, thank you from the bottom of my heart! This will be my favourite Christmas decoration to put out every year now!!! All pictures are mine, except the photo of the box!!! :)

Santa's Workshop:

Just look at how pretty it is!!! I love how it says Expert in the bottom corner! Need your own, or want to gift this one, you can find it here: Santa's Workshop

It is so spread out! I had to take so any photo's because there are so many details I wanted to share. :)

The front of Santa's Workshop! I love the string of lights on the roof!

Santa and his reindeer. :)

Santa with his sleigh full of toys!!!

This reindeer is a baby, it is smaller then the others. The set did not mention Rudolph, so I made him the baby, by adding a red nose! I made the little fire with left over pieces to create this little side scene! Those are cookie on the ground, so cute!

The back of Santa's workshop. He climbs the ladder to read all his mail in his special little spot and chair!

The scene below Santa's chair. I love the fire place, the welcome mat and the picture above it! It is Santa and Mrs. Claus vacationing in Fiji!!!

A detailed view of Santa's chair, mail and light to read!

Inside of Santa's workshop. A work bench to work on tours and Mrs. Claus, always wanting to help. :)

I love these 3 little elves working on making toys on a potable toy maker, hehe!

Last, but not least, a Holiday set needs a Christmas Tree! Again, I made the extra presents with left over pieces. Lego always includes extra piece's, which is great to make more things! So no, I didn't miss any piece's, lol. If you want to brighten anyone's day, no matter what there age, Lego is always a hit!!! No matter how big or small the set is, I treasure each and every one I own. I will hopefully be receiving this Lego City Advent Calendar for my birthday! It is sold out at Toys R' Us, but I see it is still available at Indigo. I will have to make sure Thomas reads this, lol.

Since I grew up watching Scooby Doo! everyday after school at 4:30pm, I am hoping my wonderful man, Thomas, picks me up the Lego set for Christmas: Scooby Doo!: The Mystery Machine!!!!!!

Are you a kid at heart? What do you still love from your childhood? Lego and colouring were my 2 favourite things as a child, now they are my me time, to relax and have fun!

To my Secret Mrs. Claus,
~ Thank You Again ~

Christmas is Coming...

45 Days Until Christmas!!!

I can not believe how time flies! I am seriously getting excited now!!! I absolutely love Christmas for so many reasons, family time, hanging with friends, decorating the tree and the house with decorations gathered over the years. I find so much joy in giving, I just wish the pocket book was bigger so I could spoil everyone I know! Though Christmas is not about the gifts, it is a great time of year to get some great Holiday Makeup Sets!!! May they be to gift or keep, you always get great value for your dollar! I will be reviewing the NudeStix #Toocute 3 Mini Lip/Cheek Pencil Set from Sephora, which you can find here Nudestix Set.

Nudestix #Toocute 3 Mini Lip/Cheek Pencil Set:

So today I received this adorable set of 3 lip and cheek pencils by NudeStix. I had read some reviews on the company and their products and I really wanted to give them a try. Though the regular price of one is a bit too high for me, this set was the perfect opportunity to try 3 different shades for just $28CND (with a value of $84CND!). Sephora also has an incredible gift with purchase when you use the code PARTYPICKS. There were 4 different bags to choose from, each a clutch filled with all kinds of goodies, I opted for the Party Prep bag (I think that was the name, lol) or I call it bag #2. This NudeStix Set comes with 3 shades: Mystic, Sin and Satan (I had to laugh at the name Satan, I figured that would be the red one, lol). Satan is a new shade they released with this set, so glad they did! They come in a beautiful tin with a great mirror inside, as well as an awesome sharpener (which works on the Nars Pencils from Sephora's Birthday gift 2015). Mystic has a shimmer to it (it would have been better without the shimmer, but it is good for Holiday events), where the others don't. I have tried Sin, love, love, love it! I can not get over how creamy these are! They have great pigmentation and staying power. I wore Sin all morning, with having breakfast and coffee and it did not fade! I am wearing Satan (gee that sounds odd, lol), right now, another hit!!! Satan is a beautiful matte red with a hint of pink. Stunning, and I still can't get over how creamy and smooth these are. I am now hooked on NudeStix Pencils!!! These are for cheeks as well, I love things that have multiple uses! I tried Sin as a blush while I had it on my lips, awesome! Just a little swipe on the apples of your cheeks, blend the creaminess with your fingers and you have a perfect matching blush! Or mix them up and have fun! I highly recommend that you grab this set before it sells out! This set is a limited edition, get it while it is still available! Add the code PARTYPICKS, pick a bag, and Merry Early Christmas to yourself! Or this would make an excellent gift for the beauty lover in your life! :)

Left-Right:
Mystic, Sin and Satan

Just look at all the free goodies that came with this order!!!
Bumble & Bumble - Hairdresser's Invisible Oil
Nars Audacious Mascara- Black Moon
Sephora Oil Infusion - 06 Bubbly Grenadine
Stella Parfum - Stella McCartney
GlamGlow - Thirstycleanse Mud to Foam
Urban Decay - All Nighter Setting Spray
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara - Excessive Black
Plus the Black Clutch

So I have to say that I am extremely happy with my Sephora order!!! I give the NudeStix set a 4/5, would have gone with a 5 star rating if Mystic didn't have shimmer! What Holiday sets are you getting or gifting or wanting??? 45 days to go...
